Can I cost-effectively use solar power to provide light?
In the next few months I am moving to Africa to do charity work, where I am going there will be no electricity and I would like to be able to at least run a light bulb at night so I can do some work at night.
There will be quite a lot of sunlight for most of the day, at least 12 hours, so there should be plenty of sun to power solar panels. I will need something that is relatively maintenance free and doesn't need complicated equipment to set up.
If I buy a solar energy kit it will need to be from a company that delivers to Africa and it will need to be robustly packaged as the road is pretty rough to where I am going.
